Product Development Manager R&D (m/f/x)

• Lead key projects within R&D to support business goals and ensure they are on time and within budget
• Identify and propose opportunities for new projects to improve existing products and study the potential of new products (technology scouting)
• Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Product Management Operations, Sales and General Management
• Oversee complex research projects, analyze results and provide recommendations based on findings
• Review and optimize R&D processes to establish standard work processes in accordance with high pharma standards
• Understand customer expectations in respect of expected product modifications/new product innovation
• Scale-up new or improved products in production at our sites in Germany, US and Singapore
• Document all phases of research and development
• Establish and maintain testing procedures for assessing raw materials, in-process and finished products. Manage the R&D lab (internal and external testing) to ensure delivery of on-time, meaningful, reliable results
• Participate in industry conferences on research topics of interest
• Assess opportunities to create Intellectual Property for new developments and present to Management

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related degree required, Ph.D. preferred
• You can demonstrate success in a relevant role and bring with you at least 2 years of professional experience in R&D management and more than 5 years in R&D positions
• You have strong technical knowledge of polymers / plastics – ideally in the area of plastic processing and coatings of thermoplastics. Experience within the Pharma Industry will be a plus
• Strong desire to deliver results
• Independent, systematic, and results-oriented working style, combined with a strong sense of creativity for new product ideas. Great problem-solving skills. Ability to pay attention to details
• The ability to communicate well with customers, colleagues, and lower-level staff
• Well organized, able to effectively manage time and workload
• You speak English and German fluently
